LONG TIME....
Yep another post that took forever :D.
Anyway, last Sunday i went to Standard for Auntie Joan's B-day, and took over Grandpa's garage so that i could play mechanic on my new car. Oil change done, and i decided to do a tire rotation. Got that almost done until i saw a bulge on one of the tires. lovely. so on Monday me & grandpa headed to Strathmore to pick up 2 more. $210 and i haven't even put 2000km on my car. O well.
Yesterday was Scott's moving day. We had been packing for most of the week, and around 1:30 me & Debbie & Kieran (about 2 yrs old) headed out in the truck to meet him in Drayton Valley. We got there O.K., after Red Deer the roads turned really crappy and i spent most of the time doing 80ish tho. I also hit a patch of black ice on the QE2 that slid the back end out about 4 feet. That was exciting. So anyway it took us about 4 hours on the road altogether (should have been 3) then moved his stuff in, & went to McD's for supper. We headed out around 6:30, made it as far as Rimbey doing between 50 and 70k (took us 2 hours, should have been one) which was made even more fun by this van we were following that seemed to have a thing for hitting his brakes randomly. We got into Rimbey for a break, almost got stuck getting off the highway to the UFA parking lot, and decided that we'd had enough for the day. We got a hotel room at the Super 8, so there was another $130ish. I slept not too bad until around 2, which was when Kieran decided that he wanted to sleep in my bed. so between trying to keep him from rolling off the bed and finding a somewhat comfortable position, i didn't get much sleep again that night. So when we got home (around 11:30) i decided to screw social and have a nap :D:D.
After about an hour i decided i should probably go to school. I ran into my chem 20 teacher, who managed to convince me that i could pass Chem 30 even tho my final Chem 20 mark was about 58%. i told her i'd try it for a month, so she handed me a stack of papers to do for homework containing about 15 pages. ON THE FIRST DAY BACK. UGH. I spent most of the afternoon trying to track down the principal so that we could figure out Work Experience. Despite leaving messages with 4 different people, we couldn't find anyone that was willing to do the woodworking stuff that i'm interested. So his solution was to take a cabinet that me & another Aid (slash class mom) designed to hold everything for the portable drama stuff (lighting, mic's & cords, stuff) and turn it into a 'special project.' So instead of going to work with a company, i'll be working with a member of the community on this project, which i'm accually looking forward to. I'll get a lot more one-on-one stuff than i would with a business, and i'll get to follow this project right from the design stage to finished. Attached is the first draft of the plan.
So anyway, there's the last couple weeks, sorry kristine i can't come on the 9th (i really want to try roller disco!!!) but the grad class is putting on a concert as a fund raiser.
